چکیده

Methylphenidate (MPH) is the active ingredient in Ritalin, although effective treating ofthe attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), its neurostimulation action attractiveamong students order to increase focus or improving student performance. In context Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) concept, states that insults incritical phases development, as peripubertal period, may program organism todysfunctions adulthood. The aim this work was investigate impact peripubertalMPH exposure on learning retrograde memory adult rats. Male Wistar rats wereexposed MPH (5 mg/kg) from post-natal day (PN) 30 until PN60 (MPH). Control animalsreceived 0.9% saline (Sal). At PN60, evaluated true 10 days an eight-armelevated maze at PN120 memory. group showed a delay of61% latency, 100% number errors 200% ofrepetition when compared Sal group, 5 period (p=0.004).After washout PN120, 37% thelatency, 49% reference 600% repetition errorscompared with (p=0.001, p=0.004 p=0.01). Effect of Letrozole during Pregnancy on Learning and Memory of Offspring Rats

ABSTRACT        Background and Objectives: Hippocampus is the main structure involved in spatial learning and memory consolidation. Formation of spatial memory can be strongly influenced by medications, hormones and different substances. Due to importance of new pharmacotherapy on drug administration in pregnancy, the aim of this study was to investigate the effec...

Peripubertal orchidectomy transitorily affects age-associated thymic involution in rats.

The role of gonadal hormones in induction and, particularly, maintenance/progression of rat thymic involution, which normally starts around puberty, was reassessed by examining the effects of peripubertal orchidectomy on thymic weight and morphometric parameters at different times up to the age of 10 months. Up to 6 months post-castration both thymic weight and cellularity in orchidectomized (C...

Mobile phone exposure during pregnancy disrupts learning and memory in rat offsprings

Abstract Introduction: Mobile phones create high-frequency electromagnetic fields around them when in use. The close proximity of mobile phones to the user’s head leads to the absorption of part of the electromagnetic waves into the head and the brain. Methods: We have elucidated the alteration in cognitive function of the male and female offspring rats, which were exposed to chronic mobi...

The effects of co-administration of opium and morphine with nicotine during pregnancy on spatial learning and memory of adult male offspring rats

Objective(s): Smoking opium/cigarette is a global health concern. The aim of this study was to examine learning and memory of rat male offsprings whose mothers had been exposed to either opium or morphine with nicotine during pregnancy. Materials and Methods: Wistar rats were used for the experiments. In the female rats, opium, morphine and nicotine dependencies were induced by daily injection...
